Last Saturday morning, March 9th, the Shepparton Catholic Men’s Group gathered at St. Mel’s Parish Gathering Room for a meeting that was both informative and inspiring. More than 20 men attended the meeting, including 5 priests from St. Mel’s and other local parishes.
The guest speakers at the meeting were Fr. Rene Ramirez and Fr. Ruel Desamparado, two priests who belong to the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus. The group had the opportunity to ask Fr. Rene and Fr. Ruel about their congregation and their journey to Australia. The two priests shared their personal vocation journeys into the priesthood and their stories of how they ended up in Victoria.
In addition to learning about the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus, the men enjoyed a delicious breakfast of bacon, sausages, toast, and fruits, which was organized by Anthony Holligan, Sev Cortese, Denis Muto, and David Sellwood.
The Shepparton Catholic Men’s Group meets regularly to provide a forum for men to come together and support one another in their faith journeys. The group welcomes men of all ages and backgrounds, and it is a great way to meet other Catholic men in the community.
